3 Scottish coaches have gained beef up from the Lloyd Cowan Bursary scheme to assist broaden athletes.
And 4 athletes had been additionally lucky sufficient to land a 2025 bursary from the fund to assist their growth over the following three hundred and sixty five days.
The coaches are: Frank Gauld of Aberdeen AAC, Linda Nicholson of Moorfoot Runners and Willie MacRury of Stornoway RAC.
The athletes are: Ben Heron (North Ayrshire AC), Crack of dawn Russell (Kilbarchan AAC), Abbie Stewart (Stornoway RAC) and Holly Whittaker (Aberdeen AAC).
Lloyd Cowan Bursary directors shared with us testimonials from the Scottish training recipients.
Frank Gauld: ‘The Lloyd Cowan Bursary is a large spice up for me for my part as it is going to permit me with the intention to fund some commute and lodging permitting me to beef up athletes at one of the most primary athletics competitions.
‘I’m very thankful to obtain this along side the Nike equipment beef up.’
Linda Nicholson: ‘Receiving investment beef up as a trainer is an amazing spice up, and to be supported through the Lloyd Cowan Bursary, with all that it stands for, feels very similar to being a part of a supportive group.
‘The funding will enable me to support my athletes as they travel to access top level competition; to get the best from them and from me; to learn and grow as a coach. And the Nike funding is the icing on the cake!’
Willie MacRury: ‘It means a great deal to receive support from the Lloyd Cowan Bursary. The support will go a long way in enabling me to continue to support island athletes and help grow the sport of athletics throughout the Scottish islands.’
